Today was one of those normal days. You know the days, where your Type A personality really comes through and you have a check list of things to get done. The day started by getting the laundry started, waking the kids up, taking the big ones to school, and Reed and I hitting the Y by 8 a.m. After the Y, we headed home to start checking off the "to do" list. That is, until my sweet baby asked to go for a bike ride. I told myself, we will just go for a short one and then I can "get things done." Well that bike ride changed my perspective today. As we rode, we stopped at parks. We watched the beautiful orange and yellow leaves fall from the trees. We swung on the swings together and he cracked up when I tickled him on the monkey bars. Our quick bike ride turned into an hour or more. And the best part, I left my phone at home so we had no interruptions.
Thank you Reed for helping me to make memories with you today and to enjoy the small moments in life. I needed that. Especially today.
