Well, it's easy to say "it's been a while." The last time I made a post was before Reed was born - that would be over 4 years ago!! I really want to get into the habit of blogging about our family so that our dear friends and family can keep up and I don't have to always share with the whole world on Facebook. It has it's ups and downs, but I see more downs than ups, most times.
Where do I start? Our latest news is that Keith started a new job this week with a company called X-ISS. He has left the non-profit world and is so excited about this opportunity as a Senior Account Manager with this IT consulting firm. Outside of God, family, and sports, Keith's passions are in sales and IT. This looks to be a perfect match. It was a big decision for our family, but through lots of prayer and finding an inner peace that told us to move forward, we took it. We will continue to walk step by step in faith, listening to where God is taking us with this new journey.
I continue to hold the title of CEO of the Myers' household, but in addition I have been back in the accounting world for a couple of years. I work part time from home, and am able to adjust my schedule to balance family life and work life. It's the best of both worlds for me. Easy? Not so much - but right where I think I should be at this moment in time.
The kids are growing like weeds and keeping us busy. Elise is 8, in third grade, and loves to perform, sing, and play the piano - along with becoming an avid roller blader. Luke is 6, in first grade, and about as passionate about baseball and sports as I've seen in a young guy. And the Reed-ster is 4, and very proud of that fact. In addition, he started T Ball this season and is having so much fun.
Life is good, parenting is hard, and God is amazing. We are truly thankful for our daily blessings and are trying so hard to teach the kids to recognize those blessings in their lives. This world is hard. I recently read an article talking about how hard it is to live the way we want to live in a world that does not agree with us. That's why I changed the title to "Climbing uphill in a downhill world." It just seemed fitting.
I look forward to sharing big momesnt, little moments, and all those in between. Thank all of you for sharing in our adventures.
